About Ward 22 Ward 22 is a 32‑bedbed Acute Geriatric/General Medicine situated at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. We work collaboratively with a range of specialties to facilitate clinical excellence and holistic care delivery with a multi‑disciplinary approach. Ward 22 has excellent medical cover, a designated Geriatric Consultant, a dedicated therapy team and a Discharge Co‑coordinator. All members of the team work together to ensure that top‑quality medical care is delivered and to facilitate effective discharge planning. Now we have recruited a dementia key worker for the ward. Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality care to frail elderly patients, particularly those with confusion, delirium and dementia. Manage patient flow effectively on the busy ward. Support junior nursing staff and work alongside the Ward Manager to develop the team. Deliver comprehensive preceptorship and use your own initiative while working under pressure. Demonstrate interest and practice in falls prevention, dementia care, nutrition, hydration and tissue viability. Key Qualifications and Attributes Motivational, enthusiastic and passionate about elderly care. Flexible, approachable, hardworking and able to use initiative. Capable of working under pressure. The programme is full‑time (please email mtw‑tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites.
