Business Development Executive

Job Title New Business Development Executive Location On site, in office (Easter Park, Benyon Road, Reading RG7 2PQ), on-the-road. Salary £35,000.00-£52,000.00 per year (depending upon experience and qualifications) plus commission and bonus potential. Job Description GBR Technology are a supplier of specialist high‑end lubricants into a wide range of sectors within UK manufacturing. We have been trading for 31 years and are enjoying a period of growth. As a Company we distribute for some large multi‑nationals and also have a range of own brand products. To support our existing business, and to grow our business further, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our sales team and develop their skills and career in a sales setting. You will have a strong interest in a career in industrial sales and business development, as well as being able to pick up the technical aspects of the products being sold and the markets they are going into. You will be confident, organised and trustworthy, with the drive to overcome obstacles and generate business success. You will enjoy meeting and interacting with people and be confident on the phone, able to generate leads and also to be a good communicator by email. You will be able to negotiate contracts and close deals, present convincing and professional proposals and develop good sales strategies based on researching markets and liaising with others in the Company. You will work within cross‑functional teams to help develop strategy and refine materials for success in the markets you are developing (markets including food manufacturing and other manufacturing sectors). The role is suited to someone with a minimum of 2 years of business‑development experience, ideally in a B2B setting. Experience within the lubrication or food manufacturing or general manufacturing industries would be beneficial. There will be on‑the‑job training. You will join a supportive team of 7 other sales staff and further support staff and will have your own unique position within the team. You will be based within commuting distance from our office (located mid‑way between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke). After an induction period, you would ideally spend around 50% of your time visiting customers in person (and some use of video‑conferencing) in the southern half of the UK (with some trips further afield). Some nights may be spent away during customer visit schedules, exhibitions and sales meetings. The job comes with a good salary (matched to qualifications and experience) that can develop further over time, and there will be bonus elements within the package.
