**About the role**:
We are recruiting for a Finance Manager / Financial Controller to take charge of the management and provision of fully compliant, structured, standardized and streamlined financial reporting processes to facilitate sound business decisions.
**Main duties / responsibilities**:
- Preparation & presentation of accurate, timely and user friendly financial and commercial information and provision of detailed analyses to aid business planning: monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and monthly rolling forecastof these, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register, flash reports (weekly/monthly), dash boards.
- Management of Finance Assistant to include overseeing:
- sales invoicing and customer receipts,
- processing of purchase invoices and supplier payments,
- bank receipts and payments,
- bank reconciliations,
- Credit control including regular review of debtors, reporting, escalation and follow up of overdue accounts
- purchase statement reconciliation
- petty cash/drivers floats and staff expense claims
- company credit card transactions
- Payroll; preparation and processing of payroll and company pension scheme including issue of P45s, PAYE and NI, Government submissions, P11Ds, PSAs.
- Business modeling including budgeting and forecasting
- Financial management of customer contracts including financial performance analysis and liaison with these customers.
- Customer analysis including pricing tools such as Ready Reckoner.
- Working with Operational Managers and IT Manager, optimization of cross company software interface including TMS, WMS, Freight Management/supply chain software.
- Reviewing and developing companywide financial controls and procedures in line with best practice.
- Reviewing and interrogating sales, liaising with Commercial Director and Sales team regarding actual versus forecast sales, trends, statistics, future opportunities, pipeline management, conversion and rolling forecast.
- Analysis of Fleet statistics to aid decision making and identify trends
- Financial analysis, highlighting variances and discussing with Operations Director to identify risks and opportunities to improve financial results.
- Financial support/advice for any new business bids/tenders as required
- Regular (high expenditure) supplier analysis and reporting
- Control of purchase orders including authorization and allocation
- Management of E procurement/E business payments (e.g. Exostar, OB10, Syncada)
- Submission of VAT returns
- Management of Company Pension contributions and auto enrolment (in conjunction with HR Manager) to ensure compliance with pension reform legislation
- Project/client specific budget analysis (actual versus forecast)
- Financial ad hoc project work as required
- Management of Asset Management system and cross checking with Fixed Asset Register
- Management of IT Support Manager
**General**:
- Adhere to all CTS health and safety policies/procedures and assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- At all times actively support the Company values, aims, objectives, policies and procedures
- Undertake any other duties as may be required by Senior Management commensurate with the responsibilities of the job or the requirements of the business

**Person Specification
Essential qualifications/experience/skills/knowledge**:
- Certified/Chartered/CIMA qualified accountant (or qualified by experience)
- Experience gained in logistics/commercially focused business
- Sage 50 Accounts
- Sage 50 Payroll - RTI, Pension Auto-Enrolment, HMRC PAYE Settlement Agreements
- Preparation of Financial & Management Accounts
- Strong attention to detail/accuracy/confidentiality
- Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel), knowledge of logistics (TMS/WMS) interface
- Experience of E-billing systems
- Strong leadership skills and evidence of strategic/commercial analysis & approach
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- High level of commitment,
