Healthcare Support Worker - Male PICU Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at St Charles Hospital. The role will support multi‑disciplinary medical teams and contribute to high‑quality, compassionate care for children and families. Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust at Nile Ward (PICU), St Charles Hospital. Main Responsibilities 3>Patient Safety Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses\ Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers Safeguard people by recognising and responding to abuse or risk, and escalating concerns when necessary Maintain accurate, legible records and comply with mandatory training requirements Clinical Outcomes Provide skilled, evidence‑based care in line with agreed policies and procedures Contribute to care planning, assessing risks and needs with patients, families and registered nurses Act as a patient advocate within the multi‑disciplinary team Support the implementation of care plans and directives overseen by registered nurses Patient Experience Work in partnership with patients, families and carers, seeking consent and involving them in decision making Reassure people through professional, responsive and confident care Signpost to relevant supports and escalation of complaints in line with Trust policy Supporting Yourself and Others Participate in supervision, annual appraisals and professional development activities Use continuity of care and hand‑over tools effectively Person Specification Education and Qualifications Numeracy and literacy skills for accurate record keeping and medication administration Spoken and written English to an appropriate standard NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (des) Previous Experience Experience working with a multi‑disciplinary team Experience communicating with the general public and diverse populations Experience in a fast‑paced and customer‑focused environment Experience in healthcare/NHS or similar community hospital settings (desirable) Experience in a caring role or mental health setting (desirable) Skills and Knowledge Effective communication with the multi‑disciplinary team, including hand‑over and telephone Maintaining accurate clinical records, both electronic and handwritten, as per CNWL policies Use of Microsoft Word for letters and reports Follow care plans under your own initiative, while respecting the directions of Band 4 staff or Registered Nurses Understand the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in relation to consent Contribute to the development and evaluation of care plans (desirable) #J-18808-Ljbffr
