To find out more about NHS Ayrshire and Arran please visit our website - NHS Ayrshire & Arran - Home (nhsaaa.net) Position: An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated individuals to join the Elderly Mental Health Inpatient team as band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers within Clonbeith and Dunure wards at Ailsa Hospital in Ayr and ward 3 in Woodland View, Irvine. What you will do: The Senior HCSW works as part of the multidisciplinary team carrying out a range of personal care activities, clinical care tasks and other duties as delegated by and in support of a Registered Nurse. In partnership with the Registered Nurse, the Senior HCSW will be responsible for delivering person centred care, evidence based, recovery-focused interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team and across multi agency services. Clonbeith Ward is a 12 bedded Hospital Based Complex Clinical Care ward caring for patients with advanced Dementia who experience stress and distress. Dunure ward is a 14 bedded Hospital Based Complex Clinical Care ward for individuals over age 65 with functional mental health problems. Ward 3 is a 15 bedded organic assessment ward for people living with dementia who require further assessment and management of their symptoms who experience stress and distress. This opportunity is available to individuals who have a genuine interest in working with older people with a wide range of mental health problems. Previous experience with this patients group is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering person centred care, evidence based, recovery-focused interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multidisciplinary team and across multi agency services.
