The role: Lead strategic events that drive impact worldwide Reporting to the Head of Defence Marketing & Communications, you will lead strategy and the planning and execution of 40+ events and exhibitions that enhance brand visibility, strengthen relationships and align with Systematic’s wider marketing and communications campaigns. You will ensure that every event, from major global trade shows to customer briefings and internal gatherings, communicates our story effectively and leaves a lasting impression. This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, owning the full event life cycle and driving team coordination across every stage. Your responsibilities Lead the planning and execution of high‑profile international trade shows, conferences and customer events that position Systematic Defence as a trusted, world‑class software provider – while ensuring that each event delivers strong brand impact and measurable business value. Develop and implement an annual Defence events strategy, aligning activities with overarching communications and campaign objectives. Lead and coordinate the team’s tasks – driving planning, execution and smooth collaboration across every event. Collaborate closely with the Marketing Campaigns and Communications teams to integrate event communications – from pre‑event promotion to post‑event engagement. Manage suppliers, budgets, logistics and schedules to ensure seamless, high‑quality delivery. Partner with Business Development teams to maximise lead generation and customer engagement opportunities. The team: Join a collaborative and global team You will be a member of the Defence Marketing & Communications team, which is spread across three locations in Denmark, Germany and the UK. Your primary workspace will be our Farnborough office, working alongside half of the Defence MarCom team while collaborating daily with colleagues across locations. This position offers an opportunity for you to work in a truly international environment. You bring: Event management expertise, strategic insight and a passion for impactful experiences You bring 8+ years of experience in event management – ideally within defence, technology or B2B sectors – and a proven track record of delivering complex international events that make an impact. You have a strong understanding of how events fit within integrated communications and marketing campaigns, and you thrive in fast‑paced, collaborative environments. We are also looking for someone who: Combines strategic thinking and creativity with hands‑on execution across the full event life cycle Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and leads events with clarity and confidence Plans and prioritises effectively while balancing budgets, timelines and multiple priorities Is structured and organised in how they work and remains confident under pressure Communicates with clarity and confidence – verbally and in writing – across teams, stakeholders and event audiences.
