We are offering a part-time opportunity for a band 6 senior staff nurse to join A9 and lead by example in our busy and rewarding unit.A9 - Cardiothoracic Surgical WardA 20 bedded unit caring for patients with complex cardiac and thoracic needs, pre and post surgery. We look after step downs from ITU following extensive cardiac surgery, patients with tracheostomies, and those undergoing our new Enhanced Recovery for Thoracic Surgery programme.As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will:Provide strong clinical leadership, supporting and inspiring junior colleagues.Ensure safe, high quality, evidence based patient care.Play a key role in service improvement, staff development, and patient experience.Act as a clinical role model in a fast paced, collaborative environment.We're looking for someone who:Has substantial experience in cardiac or acute care.Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.Is committed to developing both their own practice and the team around them.Brings enthusiasm, resilience, and a passion for patient centred care.Main duties of the jobProviding high quality, effective, individualised nursing care to patients by assessing their needs and developing, implementing and evaluating care plans without supervision.The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the specialty.To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care with supervision from senior staff.To support the ward manager to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.
