Public Health Support Officer

Overview Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working. 36.5 hours per week. This full‑time position will be within the Deputy Director team focusing on PR and Communications / Social Marketing. It is part of the Health Promotion Team within the Head of Office. The Public Health Division works across the council plan and is responsible for providing strategic leadership to develop the council into a local authority that actively promotes population health. This role will report to the Senior Officer and will focus on the delivery of public health campaigns across various channels. The team works with a wide range of stakeholders to improve health and wellbeing, including internal directorates, Integrated Care System, NHS trusts, the third sector and commissioned services. Responsibilities & Qualifications Experience of working flexibly, proactively, in a matrix way to ensure business objectives are met. Experience engaging with a wide audience through social media channels and other social marketing methods. Experience or keen interest in understanding Public Health priorities and the relevant policy environment. Ability to manage projects and have knowledge of scoping projects, stating aims, objectives and milestones, underpinned by effective IT skills. Experience identifying and analysing a wide range of data sets and other intelligence to inform work and communicating information and concepts to a diversity of audiences. Preparing reports and presentations through collation and analysis of data to inform decision making. Planning and organising events, meetings and workshops from design stage to implementation. Sound communication skills, including the ability to make use of different types of social media. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing demands. Ability to work flexibly as part of a diverse team, providing cover when needed to ensure continuity of service provision. A motivated and enthusiastic self‑starter who is willing to learn new concepts and take on additional learning and training where required.
