Public Health Support Officer (PR & Comms) Join to apply for the Public Health Support Officer (PR & Comms) role at Birmingham City Council. Grade B: £28,598 - £34,434 Working 36.5 hours per week Permanent This full‑time position will be within the Deputy Director team focusing on PR and Communications / Social Marketing. It is part of the Health Promotion Team that supports the Public Health Division’s strategic goal to promote population health and reduce inequalities. The Senior Officer will lead the public‑health campaign rollout across multiple channels, and this support officer will assist by planning events, organising stakeholder engagement, analysing data sets, and communicating findings to a diverse audience. Responsibilities Assist the Senior Officer in managing PR and communications strategies. Support the delivery of public‑health campaigns across various channels. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS trusts and the third sector. Plan and organise events, meetings and workshops from design to implementation. Analyse data and intelligence to inform communications and prepare reports and presentations. What We Are Looking For You will have experience working flexibly and proactively in a matrix environment to ensure business objectives are met. Experience engaging a wide audience through social media and other social‑marketing methods. Experience or a keen interest in public health priorities and the relevant policy environment. Ability to manage projects and scope objectives and milestones, with strong IT skills. Experience identifying and analysing a wide range of data sets and communicating concepts to diverse audiences. Preparing reports and presentations from data collation and analysis. Planning and organising events, meetings and workshops from design stage to implementation. Sound communication skills, including use of different types of social media. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing demands. Flexibility to cover when needed to ensure continuity of service provision. Motivated, enthusiastic self‑starter willing to learn new concepts and take on additional training.
