Engineering Team Leader

Team Leader Engineering We are partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Engineering Team Leader. This is a permanent, site‑based role, reporting to the Department Engineering Manager, with responsibility for leading a team of engineers to deliver a high‑quality, reliable service across the site. About the Role As Engineering Team Leader, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day management of the engineering function within Fresh or Chilled operations. You will be accountable for achieving all engineering KPIs, managing the departmental budget, motivating your team, and ensuring a robust service to all other departments. You will also play a key role in health & safety compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital projects. Key Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and develop a team of engineers to achieve departmental objectives. Manage daily engineering operations, including PPM, breakdown repairs, and maintenance schedules. Support and deliver continuous improvement and lean initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee health and safety compliance for all contractors and engineering staff. Participate in capital projects and contribute to the development of the site engineering strategy. Liaise with other departments to deliver solutions and provide feedback on engineering activities. Represent the engineering team during site audits and customer visits, demonstrating technical knowledge and compliance. Provide hands‑on support when required, including flexible work patterns to meet business needs. Requirements Proven experience managing an engineering team within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, cost control, and health & safety. Hands‑on leadership approach with excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of engineering systems, PPM, and metal detection processes advantageous. Relevant engineering qualification (HND or equivalent desirable). Why Apply?
