Key Responsibilities Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils with SEN, applying tailored educational plans. Collaborate with teachers, support staff and external agencies to deliver holistic support. Implement behaviour management strategies and maintain a calm and consistent learning environment. Use visual aids and alternative communication tools to support pupils with communication needs. Monitor pupil progress and adjust individual plans as necessary. About You Empathy and Patience – ability to empathise with students’ challenges and create a supportive environment. Communication Skills – adapt language and communication styles, using visual aids, sign language, or communication boards. Adaptability and Flexibility – adjust approaches to meet changing individual needs. Understanding of SEN – knowledge of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory impairments and how these affect learning. Behaviour Management – handle challenging behaviour with calmness and consistency, using positive reinforcement.
