JOB TITLE - SEN Teaching Assistant

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a Primary School based in Whitworth.

The school is a welcoming and inclusive environment with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs. The staff team is caring and collaborative, ensuring that every child receives the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. The school offers regular CPD opportunities throughout the year and invests in staff development.

Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location - Whitworth

Position - SEN Teaching Assistant

Start date - September 2025

Full time/part time - Full-time

Minimum rate of pay - £103.95 - £110 per day

Hours - 8:30 am - 15:30 pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a UK school (essential)

Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above) preferred

Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs desirable

Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year

A nurturing and patient approach to supporting learning and behaviour

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child-related references covering the last 2 years
