Practitioner Psychologist / Psychological Therapist We are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychological Therapist (CBT) to join our friendly, highly‑skilled and enthusiastic community of psychological professionals in the Brighton & Hove Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. Job Summary Band 7 post, two days per week, one year fixed term covering maternity leave. Based in East Brighton Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, working with people with complex mental health problems, their families and carers. We support professional development, specialist training, CPD opportunities and protected time for experience in other parts of the community mental health services. Main duties Provide high‑quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, families and carers. Support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training. Participate in systematic clinical governance and contribute to the multi‑disciplinary team. Ensure psychological aspects of patient care and risk management are integrated into treatment plans. Utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service. Essential qualifications Post‑graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology approved by the HCPC, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Essential knowledge & experience Specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment across a range of care settings (outpatient, community, primary care, inpatient). Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis. Experience working with diverse client groups across the lifespan, managing clinical severity and maintaining professionalism under distress, verbal abuse and potential physical threats. Experience applying psychology in multicultural contexts.
