Automation Test Engineer • Sogeti Sogeti, part of the Capgemini Group, delivers business value through technology for organisations needing rapid innovation and a local partner with global scale. We are hiring an Automation Test Engineer for our Quality Engineering and Test Practice, driving impactful value creation for our clients. Location: Anywhere in the UK. Hybrid working: Your daily work will mix Company offices, client sites, and home – you will not work from home 100% of the time. Pre‑employment checks include identity, nationality or immigration status, employment history for the last three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service). Essential Skills Experience in creating effective automation test strategies and plans. Automation using at least two proprietary or open source tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Tricentis Tosca. Creating or adapting automation frameworks. Familiarity with at least one OOP language (Java, Python, C#). Writing test scripts in a BDD environment using Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar. Managing and maintaining test assets in GIT and other repositories. Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments. Hands‑on experience with various test types (manual and automation) such as Functional, API, web, and mobility. CI / CD pipeline experience using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar, and integrating automation assets into the pipeline. Managing a small team of test engineers. Collaboration with developers, testers, analysts, architects, and other members across the organisation. ISTQB or equivalent certification at foundation level or willingness to obtain an ISTQB Foundation after joining (exam cost covered). Mandatory Skills Proficiency in an OOP language such as Java, Python, or C#. Functional test tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Tricentis Tosca. Test management tools such as Jira, TFS, or OpenText ALM. Experience in waterfall, agile, and DevOps environments. Other tooling such as Postman, Ready API, or Soap UI.
