Role Overview Join to apply for the Grade B File Handler role at Minster Law. You will handle a portfolio of claimant serious injury claims, predominantly RTA based, involving complex technical issues and quantum. The value of cases will range between £50k – £150k. You will provide mentoring support to Serious Injury team colleagues and act as an ambassador of the business, contributing to the department strategy and growth. Core Responsibilities Deliver excellent client care to our clients who have suffered traumatic, life‑changing events. Support your Team Leader in leadership, motivation of the team, ensuring clear objectives and KPIs are followed. Conduct regular technical and case reviews, providing feedback and mentoring as required. Maintain regular communication and face‑to‑face meetings with clients. Coordinate instructions and meetings with a multidisciplinary team of experts (medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, counsel). Analyze evidence and research legal issues on liability, causation, and quantum. Draft documents including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss. Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation. Work with a task‑based case management system to ensure regular contact with all clients, providing exceptional customer service. Raise awareness of the department and develop your professional profile. Involve in networking and business development with APIL, Headway, and SIA. Supervise, mentor, and develop junior members of the team as appropriate. Perform to a high level in a target‑oriented environment. Undertake any other tasks deemed relevant and reasonable by the business. Key Performance Indicators Your KPI’s and objectives will be discussed and agreed with you on a one‑to‑one basis. You will have regular one‑to‑one meetings with your line manager to review your performance against these objectives and identify any areas for development and/or required support. Person Specification Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEx with a minimum of 4 years post‑qualification experience, or equivalent experience to charge and recover Grade B rates. Proven track record of dealing with serious injury claims; an experienced litigator with strong technical ability and practical knowledge of court procedures. Commitment to delivering excellent client care for each of our clients. Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and objection handling. Accountable for achieving objectives in a fast‑paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of work quality and client care. Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of Excel and Word. Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Team player who acts as a role model to colleagues, including experience mentoring junior members of the team in multi‑track personal injury work. Confident in developing your professional profile and that of your firm within the personal injury field, with existing links to associated bodies such as Headway, SIA and APIL. Maintains a positive attitude, self‑motivated and uses own initiative. Robust – able to deal with changing circumstances and challenging situations whilst still achieving objectives. Takes opportunities to develop and stretch yourself and is passionate about developing your career in personal injury. Travel Our clients are based throughout England and Wales and there will be a need for regular travel, for example to undertake meetings with clients and conferences with the multidisciplinary teams of experts and counsel. Salary The annual salary range for this role is: £41,458.40 – £51,823.
