Why this role matters We’re hiring an Electrical Designer to help deliver some of our most important engineering projects. But this is more than technical design — it’s about how our clients experience working with Technica. You’ll bring ideas to life through detailed electrical designs, contributing directly to project success while acting as a trusted partner to both our clients and engineering teams. Whether it’s specifying electrical equipment, designing power distribution and control systems, or integrating with other engineering disciplines, your work will have a direct impact. You don’t need deep experience in every part of EC&I or the energy sector to succeed here. Join us, and help shape how Technica delivers its 5-Year strategy — through innovation, collaboration, and design excellence How you’ll Contribute You’ll be accountable for delivering electrical designs from concept through to final sign-off — ensuring every detail aligns with the technical requirements and what success looks like for the client You’ll: Prepare and check electrical detailed design documentation. Work from P&IDs and site layouts. Prepare and check electrical drawings including single lines, general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups. Prepare and check panel designs including general arrangements, wiring diagrams and schematics. Specify equipment and prepare and check electrical equipment datasheets. Prepare and check electrical schedules including, cable, load list, MTO etc. Prepare and check scope of work and other associated design documentation. Liaise with other members of the design team. Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors. Work to client, national and international standards and regulations. Adhere to company quality and standards. Carry out work in a safe and effective manner. Attend training, develop and maintain skills. What you’ll bring Proficiency in electrical design and implementation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities HNC Electrical Engineering, or related field 3 years’ electrical design experience Gas and ATEX Experience Relevant industry certifications C&I design experience and knowledge What you’ll get £35,700 – £53,500, based on experience • 25 days holiday + bank holidays Private healthcare (plus family options) Company pension Death in Service & Critical Illness cover Work from Grimsby- Dynamic working 2 days per week minimum working from your nearest office Recognition scheme & genuine commitment to your development Ready to lead with trust?
