There is ample parking space available when visiting.We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the South. You will be challenged with revolutionizing and developing our brand, with fresh thinking and constant innovation. Main responsibilities will include producing tender proposals from start to finish, attending tender visits and creating rapport with clients.The role involves working closely with the Senior Management Team and Operations focusing on building and developing current and future client relationships as part of the Thomas Franks Growth & Retention Team. Our business has grown naturally during our 16-year existence and we need your support for that to continue.Thomas Franks are a founder led, fresh food catering business. We are unique in every approach and our clients and our people are paramount to our daily success.The role is initially reporting directly to and working closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing.The role will encompass the following key responsibilities:Working closely with current clients to maintain and enhance relationships and ensure Thomas Franks continues to deliver a client first serviceBuilding new relationships with potential clientsCreating new opportunities to develop and expand the businessAs part of the Growth & Retention Team secure new contracts with potential and existing clientsEssential requirements for the position:Have a strong understanding of both the independent school market and Business & industry marketThe ability to build strong, professional relationships with current and potential clientsHave a genuine passion for fresh, locally sourced seasonal food and a commitment to sustainable environmental practices in the catering sectorProven excellence in building strong relationships with drive and enthusiasmHave experience of working at a senior level in either a business development or client facing role, ideally gained within a commercial and/or contract catering environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills (in English) and able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels.Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiativeTeam player, but able to work autonomously and remotelyFlexible, adaptable and with the ability to travel extensively in the UK and beyondTo be able to work some evenings and weekends when requiredOutstanding organisational and time management skillsKnowledge of office management systems and proceduresMust be financially astute and be able to create budgets and costings primarily in ExcelExperience of MS Office and OutlookA strong background in PowerPoint presentationDesirable experience required for the position:Experience of working in a multi-site/mobile/remote capacity or operations is an advantageOperational experience is preferredKnowledge of the B&I and Private School Sectors desirable.Wider wallet scheme (discounts at major retailers, restaurants, gyms etc).Volunteers leave - up to one day per year.Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoptive leave.Cycle to work scheme.Recommend a friend bonus.Unrivalled individual training and development.Well established apprenticeship programme.Team & company social events.Employee assistance programme.Excellent career progression within a leading independent contract caterer.About usThomas Franks is a founder led, fresh food catering business with a focus on excellence and service delivered with individuality, passion and style.
