The post holder will support senior engineers, maintain accurate records of equipment activity, and liaise with clinical staff regarding safe use of devices. They will develop skills and knowledge under supervision and contribute to departmental governance and audit activities.Senior Medical EngineerThe Grade 6 Senior/Specialist Medical Engineer is responsible for the service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of a wide range of complex medical equipment, including anaesthetic and ventilator equipment and neonatal care equipment.The post holder will exercise independent technical judgement, supervise junior engineers and apprentices, provide technical advice to clinical staff, and contribute to departmental governance, policy and quality systems.The role includes participation in the Medical Engineering on-call rota for urgent out-of-hours support.Main duties of the jobMedical EngineerCarrying out planned preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of complex medical devices.
