Based within the Neuro Radiology Department – Royal Preston Hospital / Chorley District General Hospital, opportunities exist to join our regional neurosciences centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. Recent major service developments include accreditation as a major trauma centre and designation as a tertiary vascular centre. The adult Neurology department is staffed by 12 Consultant neurologists, plus 2 paediatric neurologists linked with Central Manchester Children’s Hospital. The Neurosurgery department is staffed by 12 Consultant neurosurgeons providing a comprehensive adult neurosurgical service. We invite you to be part of our exciting personnel and equipment expansion, including state‑of‑the‑art CT, PET‑CT, hybrid interventional theatre, and a new 3T MRI scanner suite. Responsibilities Provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and support the 9 existing neuroradiologists (4 of whom perform neuro‑intervention) and the 2 head and neck radiologists. Deliver advanced neuro‑imaging and head and neck radiology reporting, and present findings at multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. Collaborate with colleagues to plan, develop and deliver the neuro‑radiology service for the Directorate and associated network. Teach specialist radiology residents (SPRs) who rotate through attachments within the Trust. Support diagnostic neuroradiology colleagues in both inpatient and outpatient MRI/CT reporting. Participate in the local and network neuroradiology MDTs. Adopt a subspecialist interest in head & neck radiology – including reporting of cross‑sectional imaging, partaking in the Thyroid and Head & Neck cancer MDTs, performing neck ultrasound and FNAs/core biopsies. Demonstrate interest in PET‑CT; this is supported by the department. Take part in a neuroradiology on‑call rota with a 1:9 frequency. Opportunistically develop or maintain other subspecialist interests within the service. Qualifications Hold or be eligible for a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within 6 months of interview. Experience in head and neck radiology and advanced neuro‑imaging techniques is highly desirable. Subspecialist interest in head & neck radiology is desirable. Interest in PET‑CT is supported.
