As a Band 7 Physiotherapist, you’ll lead clinical practice, supervise junior staff, and contribute to service development. To provide an effective and efficient specialist Physiotherapy service to adults who have an acquired neurological condition. To manage a specialist caseload, including those with complex needs. Duties will include assessment, diagnosis, and therapy, planning therapy programmes and discharging patients. To work as a lone and autonomous practitioner in the community. This is strengthened by our new values: We’re Kind We’re Fair We Listen We Care Responsibilities To provide highly specialist physiotherapy specific assessment, including the use of specialist clinical assessment to devise individual programmes of care and treatment, advice to clients, carers and members of the MDT on how to optimise functional independence and to take responsibility for decisions regarding review and discharge of clients. To participate in the Single Assessment Process, completing the multidisciplinary overview assessment and complex specialist assessments as appropriate, and to communicate relevant medical information, assessment details and advice across agencies following guidelines for sharing information and informed consent. These agencies would commonly include GPs, Social Services, healthcare professionals and the third sector (e.g., the Stroke Association, Motor neuron disease Association). To support in leading the clinical daily operation of the Greenwich Neuro rehab team. This will include answering enquiries, discussion and negotiation with referrers, triage of referrals, leading and contributing to team discussions, responding to urgent client needs, delegation of tasks to other team members, communicating with other team members and external agencies, and other key operational activities to ensure the smooth running of the service whilst. To seek appropriate support and guidance from the line manager and the clinical lead therapists and to elevate operational issues to ensure the smooth running of the service. To prescribe appropriate equipment and educate clients in the safe use of this equipment, following Integrated Community Equipment store procedures, in order to maximise client independence and safety and to support carers in their role. To complete appropriate risk assessments related to the equipment prescribed. To write therapy programmes that can be carried out by Therapy Assistant Practitioners (Band 4) and social care support staff, which are directly linked with client goals, and to monitor, evaluate and review how these are carried out on a regular basis. To attend, and lead where appropriate, relevant multi-disciplinary meetings, case meetings and/or client case conferences. To maintain and update expertise in specialist neuro rehabilitation. To manage a complex caseload independently accessing clinical supervision on a planned basis. To supervise, appraise and advise Bands 2-4 support staff and Bands 5/ 6 Physiotherapists and physiotherapy students working in this area or in the area of neurological rehabilitation in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients referred to the team. Computer literate including use of electronic notes systems, data analysis and reporting systems. Competent in use of spread-sheets and word documents as methods of recording/ analysing data. Able to apply frequent moderate effort for short periods of time in the treatment of patients and use of manual techniques. Able to apply concentration for prolonged periods of time during patient assessment and treatment and manage occasional distressing or emotional circumstances or impart unwelcome news regarding rehabilitation prospects. To carry out other duties commensurate with the grade in line with the requirements of the post as agreed by the community assessment and rehabilitation team manager.
