Painter and Decorator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise your craftsmanship, and contribute to transforming spaces with colour and style. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites. Main sites are in SE18 but also SE16, N8 and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
• Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and attention to detail
• Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and specialised equipment to achieve desired effects
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
• Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace throughout each project
• Assist in the selection of colours, finishes, and materials based on client preferences or project specifications

Experience

• Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable
• Knowledge of different painting techniques and decorative finishes
• Ability to read technical drawings or specifications is advantageous
• Strong communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members
• Valid driving licence preferred to enable travel between multiple sites

Job Types: Temporary, Temp to perm, Freelance

Contract length: 1 month

Pay: £16.29-£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
