Cardiff, United Kingdom ITV Full time

The Role Journalist (Welsh Language Programmes) ITV Cymru Wales 9-month FTC Office location: Cardiff Hiring range: £29,034 - £39,697 The role ITV Cymru Wales is looking for a multi skilled journalist to join its Welsh Language Programmes team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a journalist to work across our current affairs output for S4C (Y Byd ar Bedwar & Y Byd yn ei Le). With extensive contacts across Wales you will have an excellent understanding and proven experience in news or current affairs production in Wales. And you'll have your finger firmly on the pulse of Welsh politics, with a deep understanding of the political landscape and systems in Wales. With an upcoming Senedd Election, you will be a crucial part of the team working on the 'Y Byd yn ei Le' election coverage - researching ideas, finding contributors, supporting production on location and producing bespoke digital content. You will also be expected to support 'Y Byd ar Bedwar' with long term investigations and current affairs programming. You will have a strong understanding of compliance and broadcast guidelines and the ability to work in a fast paced newsroom environment under challenging circumstances. Skills you'll need (minimum criteria): Fluency in Welsh language (both spoken and written) A minimum of 1 year of professional journalistic experience in News or Current Affairs Excellent knowledge of Welsh and UK politics Good understanding of compliance and broadcasting guidelines Great understanding of digital platforms with ideas on how to attract new audiences to our content Other things we're looking for Camera skills and editing experience are desirable A network of diverse and varied contacts Good communication skills and a great team player Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is at the heart of what we do and we want to ensure we reflect our audience both on screen and in our workforce. ITV is for Everyone and we encourage applications from Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent people and People of Colour to apply for this role. Newsrooms are busy and pressurised environments, involving live news production, which often requires colleagues to make quick decisions under pressure. We also need people who are able to use their initiative and, particularly for editorial roles, know what information might be required and how to research it. We need to test these abilities at the interview stage to understand how candidates will react when operating in a pressurised environment. This is a fundamental requirement of the role. We will always consider any request for reasonable adjustments as part of the interview process, for example sharing key themes when that is requested in connection with a neurodivergent condition, whilst still ensuring that we are able to test a candidate's ability to operate in the specific environment of a newsroom. At ITV, we appreciate the use of technology for research during the application process. We understand that AI tools, including ChatGPT, can be valuable resources. However, we value authenticity and expect applicants to showcase their own thoughts and experiences. Applications that appear to be directly copied from AI‑generated content may be subject to rejection. We believe in a fair and authentic assessment process, and your individuality is key to standing out in our selection. To apply - Send a CV, cover letter and please include examples of your work within your application. Closing date: 23:55 on Monday 5th January Newyddiadurwr (Rhaglenni Cymraeg) ITV Cymru Wales 9 mis Lleoliad: Caerdydd Hysbyseb allanol: £29,034 - £39,697 Y rôl Rydym yn chwilio am newyddiadurwr uchelgeisiol i ymuno a'r tîm rhaglenni Cymraeg yn ITV Cymru Wales. Mae'r rôl yn gyfle gwych i newyddiadurwr weithio ar draws ein prif frandiau materion cyfoes (Y Byd ar Bedwar & Y Byd Yn Ei Le.) Gyda chysylltiadau ar draws Cymru, bydd gennych ddealltwriaeth a phrofiad o weithio ar gynhyrchiadau newyddion neu faterion cyfoes. Bydd hefyd gennych ddealltwriaeth wych o wleidyddiaeth a thirwedd gwleidyddol Cymru. Gydag Etholiad y Senedd ar y gorwel, byddwch yn rhan hanfodol o'r tîm fydd yn gweithio ar gynnwys etholiadol 'Y Byd yn ei Le' - gan ymchwilio, dod o hyd i gyfranwyr, cefnogi y ffilmio ar leoliad a'n cynhyrchu cynnwys digidol perthnasol. Bydd hefyd disgwyl i chi gefnogi a gweithio ar ymchwiliadau a chynnwys materion cyfoes ar gyfer cyfres 'Y Byd ar Bedwar'. Bydd gennych brofiad a dealltwriaeth o anghenion cydymffurfiaeth a chanllawiau darlledu a'r gallu i weithio dan bwysau o dan amgylchiadau heriol. Sgiliau allweddol Rhuglder yn y Gymraeg (ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig) O leiaf 1 flwyddyn o brofiad newyddiadurol mewn newyddion neu faterion cyfoes Gwybodaeth wych o wleidyddiaeth Cymru a'r DU Dealltwriaeth o gydymffurfiaeth a chanllawiau darlledu. Dealltwriaeth wych o blatfformau digidol gyda syniadau am sut i ddenu cynulleidfaoedd newydd. Gofynion eraill y rôl Sgiliau camera a golygu sylfaenol yn ddymunol ond ddim yn anghenrheidiol. Cysylltiadau eang ac amrywiol Sgiliau cyfathrebu da a phrofiad o weithio yn dda mewn tim Mae amrywiaeth, tegwch a chynhwysiant wrth wraidd popeth rydyn ni'n ei wneud, ac rydyn ni eisiau adlewyrchu ein cynulleidfa - ar y sgrin ac yn ein gweithle. Mae ITV ar gyfer pawb, ac rydyn ni'n annog pobl Fyddar, pobl anabl, pobl niwroamrywiol a Phobl o Liw i wneud cais am y swydd yma. Mae'r ystafell newyddion yn lle prysur, gyda chynyrchiadau newyddion byw, sy'n aml yn gofyn i gydweithwyr wneud penderfyniadau sydyn dan bwysau. Mae angen pobl sydd yn gallu cymryd camau ar eu liwt eu hunain, ac yn enwedig ar gyfer swyddi golygyddol, pobl sy'n gwybod pa wybodaeth fydd ei hangen a sut i fynd ati i'w chwilio. Mae'n rhaid i ni brofi'r sgiliau yma yn ystod y cyfweliad er mwyn gweld sut fydd ymgeiswyr yn ymateb pan maen nhw'n gweithio mewn sefyllfa dan bwysau. Mae hyn yn rhan hanfodol o'r swydd. Byddwn ni bob amser yn ystyried unrhyw gais am addasiadau rhesymol fel rhan o'r broses gyfweld - er enghraifft, rhannu prif themâu pan fydd hynny'n cael ei ofyn mewn perthynas â chyflwr niwroamrywiol - ond eto gan sicrhau ein bod ni'n gallu profi gallu ymgeisydd i weithio'n effeithiol yn yr ystafell newyddion. Yn ITV, rydyn ni'n gwerthfawrogi'r defnydd o dechnoleg ar gyfer ymchwil wrth wneud cais. Rydyn ni'n deall bod AI, gan gynnwys ChatGPT, yn gallu bod yn adnoddau defnyddiol. Ond, mae gwirionedd a chywirdeb yn bwysig i ni, ac rydyn ni'n disgwyl i ymgeiswyr ddangos eu syniadau a'u profiadau eu hunain. Gall ceisiadau sy'n ymddangos eu bod wedi'u copïo'n uniongyrchol o gynnwys a gynhyrchwyd gan AI gael eu gwrthod. Rydyn ni'n credu mewn proses asesu deg a gonest - ac mae eich unigoliaeth yn allweddol i sefyll allan yn ein dewis. I wneud cais - Anfonwch eich CV, llythyr cais yn ogystal â chynnwys enghreifftiau o'ch gwaith yn eich cais. Dyddiad cau: 23:55 ar Dydd Llun 5ed Ionawr #J-18808-Ljbffr
