The service runs 8-8 every day seven days a week with the expectation to cover some 8-8 Monday through to Sunday. Whether you're an experienced Registered Nurse or a Newly Registered Nurse, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that puts patient care first. You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day. Student Nurse's that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area. Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team within the Teesside locality working and supporting people with Learning Disabilities to achieve high quality of life and optimum health. The role is based within Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, based at Flatts Lane Centre Normanby. The successful candidates will carry and manage a case load. You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with learning disabilities their families and carers. Additional informal enquiries: Laura Holland laura.holland12@nhs.net Person Specification Qualifications Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Experience Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation Working collaboratively with service users with a learning disability and their families/carers Working in a multi-disciplinary team Working in partnership with other agenciesworking in a community setting Knowledge Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field. Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
