Additionally, you will have the option to purchase up to 10 extra days of leave.Financial Security: Participation in a highly competitive local government pension scheme.Main Duties as a Social Worker:The Initial Response Team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, conducting comprehensive assessments to determine the support needs of children and young people. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a smaller caseload, allowing you to provide valuable support and guidance to your fellow social work colleagues.Social Work Services: Deliver specialised and expert advice in complex or challenging social care cases. Manage a diverse and complex caseload, ensuring tailored support for children, families, and carers.Assessments and Interventions: Lead and conduct assessments or interventions in complex and/or contentious cases. Process referrals and complete assessments per statutory requirements and departmental policies.Planning and Implementation: Contribute to the creation and implementation of plans for children in need, children needing protection, children in care, foster carers, adopters, and family support. Collaborate effectively within a professional, family, and foster carer network for individual children, families, and carers.Meetings and Conferences: Attend and, when required, lead child protection conferences, statutory reviews, core groups, fostering panels, adoption panels, disruption meetings, and departmental meetings, providing professional input.Reports: Prepare high-standard written reports for various settings, including court proceedings.Court Representation: Represent the Local Authority in court, provide verbal evidence in public and private proceedings, and justify Local Authority actions.
