AW Surgeries are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking salaried GP to join our team of GPs and staff from April 2026. We are looking to cover four-eight clinical sessions, which will include Monday and Friday and extended hours. The Post holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.Main duties of the jobAs a salaried GP your main duties and responsibilities would be:Delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a primary care setting.Managing a mix of pre-booked and on the day appointments, supported by a strong admin and clinical team.Collaborating with healthcare professionals, pharmacists, paramedics and other health specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team.Monitor patients conditions and wellbeingCarry out home visits where necessaryContributing to quality improvement, governance and safeguarding initiatives.All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.The above are core responsibilities of the General Practitioner. Due to workload and staffing levels, there may be on occasions, a requirement to carry out other tasks.About usAW Surgeries have two surgeries based in Brierley Hill at Albion Street and Withymoor, Squires Court. We have a practice size of 17,000 patients. Our team consists of 7 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, 2 ANPs, 4 Nurses, 1 HCAs and a highly qualified and experienced Admin and reception team. As part of our Primary care network we also have working alongside us, Listening and Guidance, Podiatrist, Midwife and pharmacists.We are a Teaching General Practice working with the University of Birmingham to train medical students from all clinical disciplines. We work closely with our 6 neighbouring practices as part of the Brierley Hill and Amblecote Primary Care Network.Job responsibilitiesClinical responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other responsibilities within the organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyA commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practiceContributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationContributing to the development of computer-based patient recordsContributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient dataAttending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.Person SpecificationExperienceExperience or working in Primary CareClear, polite telephone mannerFlexible & cooperativeMotivated, forward thinkerPunctual & committed to supporting the team effortCompetent in the use of office and outlookHigh levels of integrity & loyaltyEffective time management (planning & organising)Ability to work under pressure/in stressful situationsAbility to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsCommitment to ongoing professional developmentAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperience with audit and able to lead audit programmesUnderstanding of QOFQualificationsQualified GPMRCGPFull GMC RegistrationNational Performers List RegistrationAppropriate defence indemnity - MDU/MPS.Eligibility to practice in the UKExperience of working a primary care environmentGeneral understanding of GMS/PMS contractExperience of continued professional developmentOutstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GPDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
