Salaried General Practitioner

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking salaried GP to complement our team of GPs and staff. Ideally we are looking to cover 4-6 clinical sessions which will include extended hours. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Main duties of the jobAs a salaried GP your main duties and responsibilities will be:-The following are the core responsibilities of the General Practitioner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levelsPerform clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose and monitor conditionsCarry out patient consultations within the surgeryMonitor patients\' conditions and wellbeingCarry out home visits where necessaryDiagnose and treat various illnesses/ailmentsLiaise with other healthcare professionals (e.g., midwives, pharmacists, health visitors and psychiatrists) as part of multidisciplinary teamsAll general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.About usWe are based in Brierley Hill Health And Social Care Centre in the heart of Brierley Hill, Dudley. We have a practice size of 9056 patients. Our practice team includes 4 GP partners, 1 Nurse, 1 HCA, 2 PAs, 1 Midwife, 1 First Contact Physio and highly trained admin and reception teams. We have an additional clinical team that are working within the practice as part of the primary care network. This includes Listening and Guidance, Podiatrist, Dietician, Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurse.We support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines. We have excellent relations with our neighbouring practices and are part of a 7 Practice successful Primary Care Network.Job responsibilitiesClinical responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCollecting data for audit purposesCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other responsibilities within the organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyA commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practiceContributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationContributing to the development of computer-based patient recordsContributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient dataAttending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.Person SpecificationQualificationsQualified GPMRCGPFull GMC RegistrationNational Performers List RegistrationAppropriate defence indemnity (MDU/MPS)Eligibility to practice in the UKExperience of working in a primary care environmentGeneral understanding of GMS/PMS contractExperience of continued professional developmentOutstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GPExperienceExperience or working in Primary CareClear, polite telephone mannerFlexible & cooperativeMotivated, forward thinkerPunctual & committed to supporting the team effortCompetent in the use of office and OutlookHigh levels of integrity & loyaltyEffective time management (planning & organising)Ability to work under pressure/in stressful situationsAbility to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsCommitment to ongoing professional developmentAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperience with audit and able to lead audit programmesUnderstanding of QOFDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
