Polaris Education - Executive HeadteacherBenefits: Company Pension, Life Assurance, Employee Discount SchemeContract type: Full-Time/PermanentLocation: To support schools in the West Midlands areaReports To: Managing Director of EducationJob Purpose:The role of the executive Headteacher is to:Provide effective leadership and management to a group of schools within the Polaris Community.Ensure that the schools in the community are delivering high-quality provision and securing the best outcomes for pupilsPromote a culture of unity and collaboration among the schools in the communityKey Responsibilities:Strategic leadershipEmbed our shared vision across the community, ensuring that it is understood by staff and parentsDevelop and review the community’s strategic plan, ensuring that key objectives are used to develop school improvement plansReview and monitor progress of school improvement plans and self-evaluation forms, providing necessary challenge in order to achieve a sustained focus on the strategic objectivesBuild positive and respectful relationships with stakeholders and the wider communityManaging the OrganisationLine manage senior leaders, providing effective support and challenge to help them secure best outcomes for pupilsCarry out performance management in line with the community’s proceduresSupport with managing the community’s budget and resourcesSupport with developing and implementing community-wide policiesAllocate financial resources appropriately, efficiently and effectivelyDevelop and retain high-quality staff through effective professional development and performance managementEstablish clear and open lines of communication with all stakeholdersMonitor staff wellbeing and workload and implement strategies to promote a healthy working environmentEnsure the community effectively and efficiently operates within the required regulatory frameworks and meets all statutory dutiesEnsure staff and pupils’ safety and welfare through effective approaches to safeguarding, as part of duty of careWork successfully with other schools and communitiesMaintain effective relationships with fellow professionals and colleagues to improve educational outcomes for all pupilsTeaching and learningDevelop and implement a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the relevant statutory requirementsEstablish and sustain high-quality teaching across all subjects and phases, based on evidenceHave ambitious expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities, and promote an inclusive culture that enables all pupils to access the curriculumEstablish curriculum leadership, including developing subject leaders with relevant expertise and access to professional networks and communitiesPromote a culture that encourages collaboration, where best practice is shared in order to secure the best outcomes for pupilsEnsure valid, reliable and proportionate approaches are used to assess pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the curriculumQualifications and Experience:Qualified teacher statusDegreeNational professional qualification for headship (NPQH)Successful leadership and management experience in a schoolTeaching experienceInvolvement in school self-evaluation and development planningDemonstrable experience of successful line management and staff developmentSkills and Attributes:Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknessesUnderstanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improveUnderstanding of curriculum developmentUnderstanding of school finances and financial managementEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate a vision and inspire othersAbility to build effective working relationshipsPersonal Qualities:Commitment to uphold the 7 principles of public life (the Nolan principles ) at all timesA commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the communityAbility to work under pressure and prioritise effectivelyCommitment to maintaining confidentiality at all timesCommitment to safeguarding and equality, ensuring that personal beliefs are not expressed in ways that exploit the positionApplication Process:To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are passionate about this role to Zoe.Chittenden@polariscommunity.co.ukPolaris Education is an equal opportunity employer.
