OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and collaborative Pricing Director to lead the ongoing development of our organisation's pricing function, shaping its strategy and governance to deliver sustainable value and support long-term growth. This role is responsible for designing and embedding the pricing framework and associated technology, ensuring pricing decisions are strategic, data-driven, and commercially sound. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in pricing together with excellent relationship-building skills to foster collaboration, alignment, and cultural change across the business. This role provides the opportunity to build and grow the pricing function, with the scope and resources to make a lasting impact. It combines strategic thinking with practical delivery, helping shape decisions that support the organisation's future.Typical Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & TransformationDefine and deliver the Pricing Strategy aligned to organisational strategy, goals and market dynamics.Lead the transformation of the pricing function, including capability building, process redesign, competitor benchmarking and technology enablement.Establish and embed a Pricing Governance Framework, ensuring transparency, consistency, and accountability in decision-making.Design, implement, and maintain robust pricing models and tools to enable optimal commercial decisions.Set principles for value-based pricing, customer segmentation, and margin optimisation.Introduce and embed best practices from across industries, ensuring scalability and agility in the pricing approach.Stakeholder Engagement & InfluencePartner with executive leadership, sales, finance, product, and marketing teams to align on pricing strategy. Build trusted relationships at all levels, acting as a credible advisor and change leader.Lead cross-functional forums to ensure coordinated, insight-led pricing decisions.Assurance & Risk ManagementEstablish controls and assurance processes to manage pricing risks, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.Monitor and assess the commercial and operational impact of pricing policies.Provide independent challenge to ensure pricing decisions balance revenue growth, profitability, and market positioning.Performance & InsightsDrive the development of and use data analytics to assess price performance, customer behaviour, market trends and competitor benchmarking.Report on pricing effectiveness and drive opportunities for improvement.Drive continuous improvement through insight, testing, measurement, and iterative refinement.Skills and ExperienceDemonstrated success in leading pricing strategy, frameworks, and governance.Experience driving change in pricing, commercial, or revenue management functions.Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to bring people together around shared goals.Experience in assurance and risk management, ideally in a regulated or complex environment.Commercial acumen with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Clear communication skills, able to make complex pricing concepts accessible.Industry experience in Manufacturing (desirable).Familiarity with technology and data platforms supporting pricing and decision-making.Awareness of regulatory considerations related to pricing in relevant marketsWhat we offerDiscretionary Annual BonusPrivate Medical Insurance (Family Cover)Up to 5% matched pension contribution4x annual salary life assurance25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysEmployee discounts through MyDiscountsSalary Sacrifice Car SchemeCycle to work schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeThis is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week based in our Kidlington office.Essentra plc is a leading global provider of essential components and solutions, focusing on the manufacture and distribution of plastic injection moulded, vinyl dip moulded and metal items.Headquartered in the UK, Essentra's global network extends to 28 countries worldwide and includes over 3,000 employees, 14 manufacturing facilities, 24 distribution centres and 33 sales & service centres serving c.74,000 customers with a rapid supply of low cost but essential products for a variety of applications in industries such as equipment manufacturing, automotive, fabrication, electronics, medical and renewable energy.At Essentra we are ideally looking for individuals who enjoy working as part of a close team, are passionate about what they do and who strive to make a difference.
