OverviewEF Oxford International Language Campus is seeking a Homestay Coordinator to help grow and support our homestay/host family community.In this role, you’ll be connecting with local families, visiting and assessing new host families’ homes, and often communicating by phone to encourage them to join our network, while also placing international students in welcoming homes. The focus is on creating safe, supportive and culturally enriching experiences that benefit both students and host families.Position DetailsPart Time – up to 24 hours a week (zero hour contract)Sunday requiredIf you are passionate about customer service, cultural exchange, and working with international students, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesVisiting and assessing homestay providers and completing paperwork (a strong focus on compliance)Attend local events or organize information sessions at community centres to present the benefits of hosting international studentsProactively contact prospective host families by phone to introduce EF, build relationships, and encourage them to join our homestay networkPrepare written information to be given to prospective and current homestay providersWork with homestay providers to find suitable accommodation for language students while they study with us in the UKProcess and maintain homestay accommodation records using EFs own accommodation databaseProvide pre-departure accommodation information to providers about arriving studentsVisit potential host homes, check living standards, assess cultural compatibility, and complete safety evaluationsRespond quickly to host-student mismatch situations and help arrange emergency placements when neededReport to the Homestay Manager to ensure there are sufficient homestay beds for peak season and to ensure student details are accurate each weekAssist students and providers with move and transfer requests when necessaryStrive to improve the quality of our homestay provisionRequirementsOn-call nature of the position requires a flexible, hands-on approach to hours and dutiesFamiliar with Microsoft Office and CRMs (desirable)Highly motivated, energetic, positiveCustomer service oriented, friendly and approachableAble to remain calm under pressure and to diffuse potentially difficult situationsSensitive to the needs of international students living away from homeExcellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clientsAttention to detail, organized and thoroughAll offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two referencesLegally able to work in the UK at commencement of employmentWhy you will love working with EFContinuous professional developmentWork in a truly international environmentRegular social eventsAmbition is nurtured and fast-tracked career enhancement opportunities are providedStaff are encouraged to innovate, take ownership of their ideas and bring them to fruitionEmployee Assistance ProgramAccess to EF Hello language learningEF Education First – Our History and ValuesEF is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
