Our next-generation payment infrastructure and solutions unify and optimise customers’ payment ecosystem, providing a competitive advantage and helping them achieve their goals in the digital economy. We combine this capability with exceptional sector expertise and a highly personal, tailored service focused on long-term partnerships with our customers. We’re scaling as a business, so if you thrive in an environment that’s constantly evolving, where purpose-driven culture is seen as an enabler to achieve the extraordinary and where our unique differences are celebrated, we could be the place for you Help structure and solve the most critical problems in card payments, revenue recovery, and platform stability. At Acquired.com, we’re on a mission to revolutionise recurring payments, and we’re growing fast. We’re building smart, customer-centric solutions by tackling complex problems with data, ingenuity, and a commitment to a scalable, robust core platform. We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded, and deeply analytical Senior Product Manager to join our team. You will strategically own our core card processing capabilities, drive our high-impact agenda for payment recovery and authorisation uplift, and lead critical initiatives to ensure the modernisation of our payments infrastructure. Your Mission As Senior Product Manager - Card Payments & Optimisation, you’ll own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our card processing (acceptance not issuing) products and our Failed Payment - Recovery capability. Your core focus will be problem-based solving: combining deep data exploration with structured thinking to identify friction points, set hypotheses, test and based on data validation points, drive solutions forward to be built that maximise authorisation performance and minimise revenue leakage. You will be responsible for leveraging acquirer and scheme relationships to drive innovation in the core card flow. This role requires you to act as a strategic problem-solver and hands‑on validator, ensuring that strategic initiatives—like intelligent retry logic—are backed by rigorous analysis (in collaboration with the Data Tech team) and deliver measurable business value. Reporting to the Chief Product & Strategy Officer, you will drive commercial outcomes, increase revenue, and support business growth through structured product excellence. Strategy & Ownership Define and Own Strategy: Define and own the roadmap and strategy for Card Payments, ensuring alignment with Acquired.com’s strategic priorities and framing challenges as clear, solvable product problems whilst remaining compliant with card schemes. Anticipate & Adapt: Anticipate market, scheme, and regulatory changes, quickly structuring the implications and ensuring the product stays competitive and compliant. Analytical Problem-Solving: Optimisation & Recovery Lead Recovery: Define the strategy and execute the roadmap for failed payment recovery, focusing on identifying the root causes of failure and delivering intelligent solutions to minimise arrears and revenue leakage. Drive OCO Agenda: Implement features aligned with Orchestration (e.g., intelligent retry routing), Customisation, and Optimisation, treating payment logic as a complex system to be analytically refined. Investigate & Validate: Proactively dive into payment performance data, not just to report metrics, but to uncover hidden problems (e.g., specific issuer behaviours or decline code clusters) and design experiments to solve them. Measure Success: Own the Card metrics for success, such as Authorisation Uplift, Recovery Rate Improvement, and Incremental Revenue Saved, using these as validation checkpoints. Core Card Payments & Execution Platform Modernisation: Take ownership of strategic initiatives focused on modernising or improving components of the core card platform. Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the subject matter expert for Card Payments, providing guidance across the business and ensuring consistent, informed decision-making on foundational capabilities (e.g., tokenisation, authentication), and informing effective marketing content. Partner Engagement: Work with acquirers, schemes, and partners to expand and enhance our core card processing capabilities and identify product partnerships. Delivery Rigor: Translate high-level strategic problems into clear, prioritised requirements for the engineering team, championing best practices in product delivery and validation. Stakeholder Alignment: Influence senior stakeholders by presenting product initiatives, focusing on the problem being solved and the data-driven recommendation, securing alignment and resources. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of product management experience, ideally within payments, fintech, or card acquiring. Strong Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to structure complex business problems into manageable, validated product initiatives using data insights and working effectively with Data/BI teams. Card Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of card processing, authentication, and acquiring (or a deep understanding of another payment vertical with a strong desire to rapidly own the card domain). Strong Validation Experience: A track record of using experimentation, testing, and pre-defined metrics to validate problems and solution designs before moving into product built. Excellent stakeholder management skills, balancing the needs of platform stability with commercial growth. Behaviours Problem‑Solver & Validator: Focused relentlessly on structuring and solving complex merchant challenges through rigorous analysis and validation. Strategic: Possesses the ability to define a clear, defensible direction, including for long-term platform health and stability. Hands‑on: Willing to conduct deep‑dive analysis and personally drive the solution discovery process. Commercially Minded: Able to link product strategy to revenue growth and profitability. Collaborative: Able to work effectively with technical and commercial teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
