Senior Counterparty Management Specialist

Insight Investment are looking for a Senior Counterparty Management Specialist to join our Investment Operations division. As a Senior Analyst within the Counterparty Management team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the onboarding, maintenance, and operational readiness of trading counterparties. This position provides leadership across a broad range of investment operations functions, including account setup, broker relationship management, trading enablement, and compliance coordination. You will take ownership of critical processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert for both internal stakeholders and external counterparties. In addition, you will mentor and support junior team members, ensuring the team upholds the highest standards efficiency. Role Responsibilities: Account Onboarding Coordinate candidate selection new accounts. Lead end-to-end onboarding processes for new fundings and account setups. Prioritise counterparties in line with funding timelines and manage these expectations with Senior Management. Contribute to account off-boarding activities and documentation. Track and report key metrics such as onboarding turnaround times, broker performance and pipeline. Participate in panel management efforts to ensure adequate coverage and diversification. Relationship Management Act as a primary liaison for interactions with brokers, custodians, and counterparties. Lead biannual onboarding review meetings with key brokers, including agenda preparation and performance analysis. Support Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and documentation. Help facilitate biannual trading review meetings with key brokers. Coordinate due diligence calls with counterparty credit teams. Drive collaboration and alignment across global teams, fostering a unified approach that maximizes collective expertise and delivers exceptional results. Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support Insight’s trading strategies. Trading Readiness Ensure trading systems, collateral management platforms, and internal records accurately reflect trading readiness and counterparty configurations. Oversee the validation and periodic review of trading lines. Identify and implement process improvements leveraging technology and automation to enhance operational efficiency. Support regulatory reporting, audit requests, and internal governance reviews related to counterparty management. New Broker Approvals Maintain and update the Insight Approved Broker list. Support the administration of counterparty approval workflows and documentation. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing expertise in broker selection, onboarding, and operational best practices. Contribute to the evolution of Insight’s counterparty management strategy, bringing forward innovative ideas and process improvements. Champion data-driven decision-making and the use of new technologies (including AI and analytics) to strengthen operational control and insight. Experience Required: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in counterparty management, trading operations, Client Service or broker relationship management within an asset manager, investment bank, or similar financial institution. Understanding of trading operations, KYC, credit processes, and regulatory frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of improving processes and managing complex workflows. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and engage effectively across senior stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, prioritize effectively, and deliver in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in using technology and data tools to streamline workflows and generate insight. A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
