Legal and Compliance Snr Associate

Providing support on legal and regulatory requirements for Capital Group's funds (UCITS and AIFs) based in various jurisdictions in Europe under the supervision of more senior team members. Every person in the team is responsible for legal, regulatory, and compliance work and is expected to work with other teams across multiple jurisdictions. The precise requirements of the role will develop over time in response to changing needs of the business. However, initially we would expect the successful candidate to have the following main responsibilities: Primary responsibilities/essential functions Drafting, maintaining and ongoing legal review of fund legal documentation, including prospectus, supplements, process new registration of funds as well as related products documents for a variety of regulatory filings including new fund approval or amendments to existing funds under the supervision of more senior team members. Drafting and reviewing fund contracts, including management, investment management, administration and depositary agreements. Assisting team members to support need of operational and business departments with responses to queries or troubleshooting issues in relation to the Capital Group products family. Working on projects with relevant operational and business teams, including new fund launches and other funds related projects. Helping to implement legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements regarding UCITS funds (including UCITS rules, product governance and ESG requirements). Assisting on problem solving and providing feasible recommendation options for implementation within various legal and compliance processes and procedures. Assisting on advising and identifying issues across the department to ensure they are current with regulations and relevant regulatory changes. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned. Skills/qualifications Good legal drafting skills. Fast learner who is willing to take on ownership for a wide array of tasks. Strong commitment to quality, accuracy and attention to detail. Effective written and oral communications skills with team members and managers. Ability to organize and prioritize work and complete in a timely manner. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to adapt to the needs of a growing business. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity. Strong interest and ability to enhance and automate, refine, and streamline processes. Effective use of technology as well as ability to work on new opportunities and recommendations. Core requirements Degree / 2-3+ years of work-experience, ideally asset management experience. Able to speak and work in English; second European language a preference In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
