Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Financial Systems Accountant The closing date is 16 December 2025 This is an exciting time to join the Finance Systems team. Having implemented a new Finance System, Integra Centros, at both Bolton NHS FT and MFT, we are continuing to expand our Finance Systems support to other Greater Manchester Trusts. Main duties of the job Assist with the management of the Trusts' financial systems ensuring robustness, data integrity, and providing stakeholders with relevant, accurate, and timely financial and business advice, contributing to systems that are fit for future. Provide management for the Financial Systems Team, managing workloads, and offering guidance and support with tasks. Identify development opportunities and add value to a high‑quality Finance Systems service. Contribute to testing and implementation of future financial systems upgrades or improvements, identifying and reporting any issues that arise throughout the projects. Support first‑line Finance Systems support for all non‑procurement finance system users, establishing problems, impact and solutions, and guiding end users. Advise on complex systems issues, develop solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial systems and processes, serving as a key contact with Trusts’ service managers. Manage maintenance of all financial systems by scheduling and reviewing closedowns, implementing updates, and liaising with system suppliers to ensure service availability under contract terms. Person Specification Qualification Professional qualification in accountancy (CCAB, CIMA) and/or Information Systems with current membership registration or equivalent job‑related experience. Demonstrable post‑qualification development and achievement of CPD. Qualifications in specialist IM&T/finance areas relevant to the designated area of deployment. Knowledge Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience in the designated financial systems area. Thorough understanding of current NHS accounting principles and procedures, including audit requirements. Excellent understanding of finance and reporting software packages. Significant experience in relevant IM&T/finance areas such as project management, systems development, information management, or business analysis.
