Group Financial Controller

Broster Buchanan are delighted to be partnering with a leading, Manchester based, retail business in their search for a Group Financial Controller. Reporting directly into the CFO, the Group Financial Controller is a key position in the business designedto ensure strong accounting and reporting throughout the group. The Group Financial Controller will play a pivotal part in creating a high-performing finance team to support the companies ambitious growth targets.
The Group Financial Controller will have line management of four teams consisting of Group External Reporting, Group Management Accounts, Transactional Finance and Stock. This is a high profile position and as such requires someone who is personable and keento build strong relationships and networks across the business.

**Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring the Group maintains a strong financial control environment
- Leading and developing a finance business partnering team
- Review of the monthly financial pack for Executive and Board reporting
- Review of the consolidation of monthly reporting of budgets and forecasts
- Process & Control Improvements - maintaining and develop controls in support of the Finance Systems Team, including process implementations
- Coaching, developing, training and motivating Finance team members
- Contribute to the development of the departmental strategy and objectives
- Manage and co-ordinate the annual corporate business plan and budget process
- Treasury and cash management
- Oversee the production of a suite of monthly and quarterly financial and non-financial reports, including budgets, actuals and forecasts
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and external audit process, including subsidiaries
- Manage the relationship with external auditors.
- Responsibility for Corporation Tax submission
- Act as the lead in all financial related matters across the organisation
- Support the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, board members, and deputise as and when necessary on financial matters
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are adhered to across the group
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A qualified accountant (ideally ACA)
- 10 years + post qualification experience
- Strong financial, accounting and managerial skills
- Full ownership of internal and external reporting
- Experience of managing and completing the audit process
- Prior retail experience is preferable or experience in a business where stock is a key component
- Understanding of Dynamics would be advantageous
