OverviewJoin to apply for the Commercial Underwriter role at NFU Mutual.• Opportunity to be part of a National Commercial Underwriting function• Hybrid 80% homeworking available and 20% from our office in York• Ongoing training, career progression and personal growthAbout the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a diligent General Insurance professional to join us as a Commercial Underwriter within our SME and Mid-Market Team. You’ll be responsible for handling commercial cases up to £35k premium across Commercial Select, Motor Trade & Farm. The team underwrites all mid-term alterations and renewal work for any case within these thresholds. We receive approximately 2,500 Mid Term Adjustments per week and aim to complete 80% of these within a 5-day turnaround while maintaining renewal positions. We work closely with our agents to drive the best possible outcomes for our customers quickly and to a high quality.Here at NFU Mutual, we operate with a unique model of a tied agency network. Our NFU Mutual agencies are the vital day-to-day link with our customers and, as an Underwriter, you\'ll build strong relationships and work collaboratively with our Agents, resolving complex referrals and ensuring effective management of the insurance risk cost whilst delivering the right solution and service for our members.We provide a comprehensive induction to the role. You will need to be able to commit to being in the office more frequently for the first 6 months. Following your induction, you will receive ongoing training which will support your career progression and personal growth.Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday with shifts between 8am and 6pm.About youYou’ll be a Commercial Underwriting professional with varied experience of complex and technical cases within a regulated environment including working within Authority.
