Director, Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships £120,102 p/a + benefits London SW1, Pall Mall Closing date: Tuesday 23 December 2025 at 17:00 GMT The Commonwealth Secretariat is the principal intergovernmental body of the Commonwealth, responsible for advancing and achieving the shared goals of the association’s 56 member governments in promoting democracy, development and respect for diversity. The Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Division is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of Commonwealth Secretariat’s resource mobilisation, partnership and donor engagement, building through strategies and activities to promote the Secretariat’s work towards the transformation and resilience building of the Commonwealth Member States and to mobilise the financial resources, in‑kind support and strategic partnerships required for that mission. The Director of Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships implements strategies to secure funding from diverse sources, cultivates and maintains relationships with donors, oversees the development of compelling proposals, manages donor databases, monitors fundraising trends, and ensures effective reporting and financial controls to achieve the organisation’s mission. The post holder will play an important and significant role in the senior management team. Responsibilities Develop and implement fundraising strategies. Manage relationships with high-contribution countries. Ensure programme alignment and alignment with strategic objectives. Cultivate and expand the donor base. Engage with diverse funders. Provide technical support and oversight of proposal development. Develop and produce reports on fundraising performance. Monitor and track funding flows and trends. Provide strategic leadership for resource mobilisation. Qualifications Post‑graduate degree or qualification in business administration, economics, finance, international relations, social or political science, or another relevant field. Minimum of fifteen years of relevant professional experience in resource mobilisation and partnership. Strong aptitude and understanding of the communication aspects of stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated experience in managing external stakeholder relationships. Excellent business‑oriented verbal, visual, and written communication skills. Experience navigating political and strategic discussions objectively and diplomatically. Experience structuring and analysing quantitative and financial models to inform decision‑making. Demonstrated people‑management skills, leadership ability, and experience in multicultural and international settings.
