Job Summary This role is a training position within the Trust's Talking Therapies Services. The trainee will work 3 days a week in the Talking Therapies service, providing high‑intensity intervention and CBT to adult clients, while attending a postgraduate diploma programme in CBT on the remaining two days. The position will also involve assessment, treatment planning, and consultation with referrers, family members, carers and other health and social care staff. The post holder will also be required to work one evening per week (12‑8pm) and may be asked to work at any of the Trust's North London locations. Basic Requirements for High‑Intensity Trainees Eligible professions include clinical and counselling psychologists, occupational therapists, psychiatric nurses, social workers and psychological well‑being practitioners. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years full‑time post‑qualification experience. If a BABCP‑recognised core profession is not held, the applicant must enter via the Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route and provide a portfolio of evidence prior to interview. Relevant experience delivering psychological therapies to adult clients is required. Knowledge of CBT and primary care experience is desirable. Main Duties / Responsibilities Assess and provide CBT to referred clients. Work in designated general practices, liaising with GPs and other practice staff. Provide advice, guidance and consultation to referrers, family members and carers. Prepare and communicate assessment and treatment reports sensitively. Liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies. Attend and fulfil all training element requirements of the post. Apply learning from the training programme in practice. Receive supervision from educational providers in relation to coursework. Utilise evidence‑based literature and research to support practice. Participate in clinical audit and service evaluation with colleagues. Receive regular clinical professional supervision from senior psychologists or therapists. Participate in an agreed programme of training and continuing professional development, maintaining engagement with current developments in practice. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues relevant to the service and client group. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade, as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager. Person Specification – Essential Professionally qualified as a clinical or counselling psychologist, occupational therapist, psychiatric nurse, social worker or psychological well‑being practitioner. Experience carrying out risk assessments within scope of practice. Experience working in mental health services. Demonstrable ability to develop a therapeutic relationship. Relevant experience delivering psychological therapies to adult clients. Knowledge of CBT and primary care experience is desirable. Additional Requirements Application will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Applicants who need a Skilled Worker Visa or sponsorship will be considered. They must meet the UK Visas and Immigration requirements for criminal record certificates. Working Terms Band 6, Fixed‑term contract, 1 year Salary: £46,419 to £55,046 per annum (inclusive of HCAS) Full‑time, with a working pattern of 3 days in‑service work, 2 days of training, and one evening per week (12‑8pm).
