As a Data Engineer you will work with AWS services, Airflow, Snowflake, and in-house tools to design, develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure. By Joining the Analytics Engineering team, your contributions will drive the next generation of decision making at Caterpillar. You will have the opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment Your responsibilities will be: Deploy pre-built data models and business logic into production environments Identify necessary data sources for models, and create and maintain ETLs to ensure seamless model execution Recommend optimal data structures and manipulations based on inputs and desired outputs Collaborate with data, business and data science professionals to create business focus solutions Support the implementation of the Analytics Engineering roadmap, including the integration of new data sources and the development of advanced analytics capabilities Work closely with team members to bring more up-to-date competencies with ML Ops and support their projects This position works directly with Slovakia-based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in Switzerland. What you have: Extensive experience with ETLs (Apache Airflow, or equivalent), AWS SageMaker, Snowflake, Python and SQL. Knowledge and experience in practical applications of advanced analytics tools and techniques, including machine learning operations (ML Ops) and data science collaboration. Experience with ML and CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps, or equivalent). Experience with automated testing frameworks, including regression tests, to ensure model accuracy and reliability Knowledge of data structure (JSON, XML, or equivalent. Formal education in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Machine Learning: Knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning; ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems, products and services. Query and Database Access Tools: Knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.
