The Bodleian Libraries is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide vital support to the busy and high‑profile Directorate office. Situated in the Clarendon Building of the historic Bodleian Libraries, your primary role will be to provide administrative support within the Directorate office and to give brief reception cover for the Clarendon Building each day. You will maintain and update spreadsheets and mailing lists, assist with correspondence and visitor arrangements, greet visitors and ensure their queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally. This is a varied and interesting role with opportunities to get involved in exhibitions, events, VIP visits and filming projects. This is a permanent part‑time post, working 20 hours per week (0.5479 FTE). Working hours will be from 13:00–17:00. Please note that this role does not support remote working. About You You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to engage confidently and courteously with visitors. You will have experience in a reception or customer‑service environment and understand the importance of confidentiality. You will have good IT skills, especially proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Excel, and the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
