Assistant Producer (Religious Programming Department) – Islam Channel Reporting to: Head of Religious Programming Working Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (flexibility required to work weekends, bank holidays and additional hours) Salary: Competitive based on knowledge, skills & experience Company: Islam Channel Limited Location: Head Office – IG2 7BS Responsibilities Develop and produce high‑quality, creative original content, programmes, series and podcasts across platforms from concept to completion Ensure projects adhere to the overall vision of the company in line with the budget, available resources and agreed time frame Plan and execute the development phase, including research, treatment creation, script writing, and securing suitable guests, presenters and panellists Lead pre‑production kick‑off meetings with key stakeholders and brief the team and crew before shoot Manage the team within the department (if applicable) and offer training to volunteers, work‑experience students, graduate interns, researchers, presenters, etc. Create current affairs content for Islam Channel social media Produce location shoots Present religious shows (desirable) Use on‑camera filming and editing skills (preferred) Organise shoots and liaise with the Studio Manager to book shoots and plan sets, filming, lighting and set‑up accordingly Collaborate with the line manager to understand objectives and contribute to programming strategy Apply Ofcom guidelines and adhere to editorial policy throughout Oversee shoots, whether on location or in the studio Troubleshoot problems that may arise during the entire phase of the project Ensure set and location are appropriate, fit for filming, and presentable Guarantee audio, lighting and visual quality when filming Manage direct reports and verify accuracy of all invoices, purchase order forms and expense claims before approving (if applicable) Enforce all health and safety guidelines on all shoots/locations Conduct risk assessments for all productions or when appropriate Ensure accurate completion of booking forms and obtain relevant in‑house and third‑party approvals and clearances before arranging shoots Skills Advanced understanding of Islam and passion for sharing religious content in an inspiring and engaging way Experience working on complex productions involving varied stakeholders, staff and freelance staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent project planning skills Ability to work within a team Ability to film using DSLR cameras Ability to present on camera for relevant programmes Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject Experience Ideally minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in broadcast television and a proven track record of creating original high‑quality programmes Proven work experience delivering religious programming content Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro and After Effects Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Design, Art/Creative, and Information Technology Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Islam Channel by 2x Get notified about new Assistant Producer jobs in London, England, United Kingdom. #J-18808-Ljbffr
