We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our specialist resource base supporting primary‑aged pupils with additional needs, primarily autism. This unique opportunity allows you to work in a small nurturing setting while being part of a vibrant mainstream school community. Key responsibilities: Support the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities for a small group of children, ensuring they can access the curriculum at an appropriate level. Lead small‑group and 1:1 interventions, including communication, sensory regulation, social skills, and academic tasks. Use specialist strategies (e.g., visual supports, TEACCH principles, structured routines, de‑escalation techniques) to support pupils with autism. Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher, SENDCo, and multi‑agency professionals. Contribute to assessment, record‑keeping, and reporting on pupil progress. Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour in line with pupils’ individual support plans. Provide supervision during transitions, playtimes, and other unstructured parts of the school day. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
