Positive Directions Practitioners work with complex young people in the community such as schools, hospital or home, using trauma informed practise to change their life for the positive. Direct work to be undertaken, in a compassionate yet creative way. updating adults in the child's life, whilst advocating for the child, which will include using your trauma expertise to challenge inappropriate language. Working with parents/carers to understand life from the child's point of view, acting as an advocate, this will also include within CIC/CIN/CP meetings. Using your skills to manage complex situations, that are ever changing and highly demanding. Building relationships with young people. Understanding levels of development and the link to trauma. Work with partnerships to ensure working together policy and procedures are acted to the upmost confidentiality. Take part in regular case formulations. Work closely with Edge of Care team and NHS colleagues. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. This is a fixed term term post until March 2028. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Who are we looking for? This role is out in the community and you will be expected to travel to various different homes and settings throughout the working week, some children will need to be seen outside of normal working hours so flexible working hours apply. Experience of working with young people who have complex needs and exhibit emotional and behavioural difficulties Experience of creative and innovative approaches to engage vulnerable and hard to reach young people Experience of data protection, recording sensitive information, maintaining case files and adhering to confidentiality policies Experience of working in a multi-agency capacity, ensuring collaboration with partner agencies and promoting relational practice. Understanding of risk management for children. Understanding of Education and Health care planning process. Experience of de-escalation skills. Strong understanding of trauma and how this can exhibit in a persons life. Creativity. Good engagement with young people. Real understanding of the pressures for young people in todays world.
