School Caretaker/Cleaner/Mainatainance

£1504.80 - £1607 per month based on temporary contract. potential salary depending on experience and/or qualifications and number of hours worked each week. 

About Us:

We are seeking a caretaker to work at a welcoming school dedicated to providing a safe and positive learning environment for our students. We are looking for a skilled and reliable School Caretaker to join our team and ensure the school’s premises are well-maintained, secure, and ready for daily operations.

The Role:

As the School Caretaker for this two-form entry school you will be rewuired to work 2pm -7pm each day - no 1st shift leaving you available for other commitments. 

You will be a school caretaker or a Handy Individual that can turn thier hand to all things manual/cleaning and locking up. From dripping taps, to fixing and putting up shelves and ensuring a safe and secure environment for children. 

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the school premises are safe and secure, including checking alarms system
Perform general maintenance tasks such as minor plumbing, painting, and carpentry, and report any issues that require specialist contractors.
Conduct regular checks of the school grounds and buildings to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Support cleanliness of the school. 
Assist in keeping outdoor areas, playgrounds, and gardens clean, tidy, and safe.
Be available to respond to any urgent issues or emergencies, such as alarms or security breaches from 2pm -7pm daily. 

Essential Criteria:

Previous experience working in a school/community environment is desirable but other sectors considered. 
Practical knowledge and experience of general maintenance/cleaning skills.
A good understanding of health and safety. 
Fast paced 
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to deal with occasional out-of-hours requirements.
