We are currently looking for a reliable and detail-oriented School Cleaner to join our team and support the daily cleaning of in Leigh-on-Sea. This is a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The position involves working Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 5:30pm (2-hour shifts) during term time. Additional hours may be available during school holidays for deep cleaning.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
  • Clean and sanitise classrooms, toilets, staff areas, and communal spaces
  • Refill hand towels, toilet rolls, and soap dispensers
  • Empty waste bins and replace liners
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including colour-coded cleaning and COSHH guidelines
  • Report any issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the supervisor

Experience:

  • Previous experience in school or commercial cleaning is preferred
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe use of equipment
  • Ability to work independently and follow a schedule
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one)
