We help our clients manage the critical elements of their business – its people and its finances – by providing resources and technology that ensure things run smoothly no matter what hurdles they encounter.LocationScotlandRoleUK Employment Tax Advisor – ScotlandAs a UK Employment Tax Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting our clients and senior team members in navigating the complexities of UK employment taxes.ResponsibilitiesAssisting in the day-to-day delivery of client engagements, ensuring compliance and technical accuracy.Supporting employment tax projects, working closely with our clients and senior team members to ensure compliance.Contributing to client advisory projects, covering PAYE, NIC, benefits in kind, CIS termination payments, IR35, while collaborating with senior team members and subject matter experts.Conducting technical research and analysis on employment tax matters to provide insightful recommendations.Preparing tax calculations, documentation, and advisory reports for clients.Engaging with clients to provide support on UK employment tax developments and topics.Supporting senior team members with PAYE reviews, client advisory projects and HMRC employer compliance checks.Assisting in the development and mentoring of junior team members.Required SkillsOrganisational skills: Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy.Workload management: Proven capability to handle a dynamic workload, balancing competing demands while maintaining high-quality standards.Attention to detail: Strong technical skills with an emphasis on accuracy and analytical thinking.Problem solving: Strong critical thinking skills and awareness of wider client needs with a view to becoming a trusted business advisor.Interpersonal skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.Supporting senior team members: Proactively assist senior colleagues by taking ownership of assigned tasks and contributing to the overall success of the team.Desired SkillsIdeally holding ATT and CTA qualification(s) or actively working towards this.Experience or exposure to employment tax practicesA background outside of a traditional Big 4 firm is welcome, as we focus on tailored advisory support to clientsAbout AABAt AAB you will have tremendous opportunities that will meet your career aspirations, working in a progressive, energetic and stimulating environment alongside supportive and engaging professional teammates.EqualityAAB Group is an equal opportunity employer.
