Building & Facilities Officer

OverviewThe Building & Facilities Officer will play an important role in improving the functionality, safety and appearance of our Oxford office, working closely with the Office and Facilities Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, with a hands-on approach to support with all aspects of facilities, maintenance, safety, security and office enhancements. The position's primary objective is to cultivate and maintain an environment that places the utmost importance on the well-being, comfort, efficiency, and functionality of all office occupants—be they employees, clients, or visitors.ResponsibilitiesCarry out daily facility checks of the office and external grounds, completing basic maintenance repair works where requiredMaintain compliance with local health and safety regulations and environmental standardsEnsuring all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) operate efficiently and safelyConduct safety inspections and auditsIdentify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint of our officeOversee the work of external maintenance staff and service providersGenerate purchase orders and track monthly invoicesCover Reception as and when requiredAssist with internal event coordination and manage conference room set up for meetings/trainingPrepare regular reports for management, outlining key performance metrics and improvement recommendationsContribute to the annual ISO/SOC2 office recertification with regards to facility processesWhat we are looking forRequired attributes:General office maintenance repair skills, including basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating & minor electrical worksProven experience in building and facilities, preferably in a corporate or professional services environmentKnowledge of building systems, maintenance, and safety protocolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levelsAttention to detail and delivering high-quality resultsAbility to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlinesDesirable attributes:Building Maintenance System experienceWhat we offerPrivate Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceParental SupportSalary-Exchange PensionEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)Local Oxford DiscountsCycle-to-work SchemeFlu JabsWe are committed to offering flexibility in the way we work.
