The delivery of the Westinghouse UK Fuel Growth Program is essential to the future nuclear fuel products for all current and future reactor types and is a fundamental part of the UK Government's Nuclear Roadmap and Net Zero 2050 commitment. The portfolio is fundamental to the Westinghouse UK Fuel long-term strategy and essential for the growth of Springfields Fuels site.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our project team as a Risk Manager. The role will be varied and wide ranging with the successful candidate supporting a diverse portfolio of projects in a number of operational production plant, laboratory, and site infrastructure support areas. The responsibilities start at business planning and follow through bid, delivery to contract closure.Risk Manager will be responsible for providing management and leadership to the Risk Management function across the Springfields projects and programmes.The Risk Manager reports to the UK SFL Head of PMO and will be responsible for the overall management and development of the risk management capability and risk support to projects and programmes. The portfolio of projects and programs has a significant market reputation, high in complexity and high value with an overall value in excess of approximately £1B. The role will require the management and co-ordination of a diverse set of stakeholders including representatives from Commercial, Finance, Operations, Safety and Quality internal departments in addition to stakeholders in the wider Westinghouse company such as the US and Japan. External stakeholders include UK Government DESNZ and NDA.The role will include the setting up, management of, training and deployment of tools to effectively communicate a consolidated view of project and programme risk at a project and program level; ensuring identification, impact and probability assessments, treatments and a robust escalation and reporting process are defined.The Risk Manager will have line management responsibility for a growing team of project risk professionals and support staff. The duty holder will have demonstrable experience in risk management.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop risk and opportunity registers - including title, cause, consequence, ownership, actions.Ensure that risks, issues, controls and benefits (opportunities) are monitored and reported through suitable processes.Undertake quantitative and qualitative risk and opportunity analysis (as applicable) in support of ongoing management of the WEC ES Business and the delivery of programmes and projectsDevelop and implement methodologies to enable scenario modelling for the WEC SFL/Fuel portfolio and integrate these into cost and schedule forecasting (for validated budget analysis).Establish the required governance process (including definition of the audit schedule and its implementation) for risk and opportunity management for all work within the portfolio and ensure reliance can be placed on the outcomes of the assurance processesManage the production, maintenance and monitoring of integrated scope, cost and schedule baselines & underpinning data with regard to allocated risk and estimating uncertaintyEnsure adherence to the WEC risk process, where appropriate, via direct liaison with the central WEC risk management capability and challenge 'constructively' to seek advanced agreement on where revised / adapted processes and procedures will be implemented.Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:5 years relevant experience working within a similar roleExperience of risk and opportunity management strategiesProfessional Certifications: APMExperienced of Risk & Opportunity management in a portfolio/programme/project of M&E, CS&A packages of work on a design and build basisHave good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade and communicate with people at all levelsDevelop and implement key risk and opportunity management processes and procedures to enable efficient and effective management and control of the portfolio/programme/project.Provide clear and concise guidance to the Head of Project Controls on actions required to optimise achievement of contract objectives given the current risk & opportunity level(s).Maintain risk and opportunity data to demonstrate the continued viability of the Portfolio/Programme/Projects;Ensure the accuracy of risk and opportunity data communicated and reported to all stakeholders and highlight any current and potential issues.Integrity and TrustCustomer Focus and InnovationSpeed and Passion to WinTeamwork and AccountabilityEmployment opportunities may require access to information which is subject to the export control regulations of the United States.
