Pre‑Sales Engineer (Indirect Tax Suite) Join Sovos Insurance Premium Tax, a global leader in tax compliance solutions, as a Pre‑Sales Engineer to support our Indirect Tax Technology Suite (ITTS). In this role you’ll act as the bridge between sales and product, delivering technical expertise to enable our customers to achieve compliance and growth. Responsibilities Provide superior domain expertise around ITTS solutions Maintain expert‑level understanding of product functionality and technical architecture Assist in client discovery to uncover challenges and define solution architecture; review discovery questionnaires to capture customer landscape knowledge Develop a firm understanding of customer needs and align Sovos solutions to eliminate pain points Conduct sales and solutions presentations with Sovos Sales; collaborate with Professional Services and product functions to ensure successful onboarding Maintain and improve demonstration capabilities; present compelling narrative of Sovos solution features and benefits Conduct in‑depth technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospects and clients Act with integrity and demonstrate ethical behavior with all stakeholders Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction Demonstrate high self‑awareness, commitment to personal development and learning Focus on process improvement, optimize sales workflows to enhance revenue growth and customer satisfaction Develop and lead training sessions within and outside the Sales Engineer department Serve as subject‑matter expert for RFP/RFI responses for prospective new clients Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education Minimum 1 year of Sales Engineer experience or equivalent Strategic orientation to business outcomes combined with day‑to‑day detail management Strong team orientation with a history of collaboration in fast‑paced environments Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize activities Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong business ethics and discretion Self‑motivated with a drive to succeed Knowledge of communication protocols (APIs, SFTP, AS2, IDOC, EDIFACT, XML, UBL) Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Multiple language skills preferred Moderate travel required to clients, trade shows, Sovos events, and special projects Essential job functions include interacting with teammates, customers, comprehending complex concepts, analyzing and resolving problems, and using technology to fulfill work requirements Benefits Opportunity to work with a global team Bi‑weekly free days for meetings Mentoring programs Globally recognised training and development programs Sovos is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment that celebrates diversity and where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees.
