Job Title HMP Millsike – General Maintenance Operative Overview The role involves completing planned and reactive maintenance and monitoring of all prison fabrics within scope. The candidate must possess relevant certificates and experience in electrical maintenance services in a large complex environment. Responsibilities Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Helpdesk tasks to ensure contract compliance. Conduct tasks in compliance with Company Safety Policy, Procedures, Codes of Practice, NR, and Statutory Regulations. Develop a detailed knowledge of the site engineering services, coordinate connections to existing plant/systems. Maintain SHE standards and adhere to Permit to Work Systems. Work shift rota pattern, offer out‑of‑hours call‑out functions, including weekend working. Qualifications Certificate: Apprenticeship or equivalent, IOSH or equivalent, C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2, and 3, NVQ Level 3 multi‑skilled engineering, C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent, HVAC or gas equivalent, or C&G 2391/2 18th edition IEE regulations. Previous relevant experience providing electrical maintenance services in a large complex environment. Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience updating central data systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, team player, ‘can‑do’ attitude. Physical ability to perform tasks, access to safe system of work.
