Job Description: School: Elmswell Community Primary School, Elmswell, Suffolk IP30 9UE Salary: £24,414 per annum pro rata Hours: 31.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Monday to Friday 08:30‑15:15) Contract: Fixed Term while pupil remains in school, starting January 2026 Reference: 8147 We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic 1‑to‑1 support assistant to provide support for an individual pupil in Key Stage 2, with start date January 2026. Your role: Assist the pupil in developing positive learning behaviours. Adapt duties and responsibilities to meet the pupil’s needs. Apply positive behaviour strategies and support the pupil’s progress. Use initiative and flexibility in tasks. Qualifications: Experience helping children develop positive learning behaviours. Flexibility to adapt duties to pupil needs. Sound understanding of skills required to support children’s needs using positive behaviour strategies. Good English and Maths skills. Understanding of barriers faced by children with special educational needs and ability to support them to achieve. DBS Disclosure at enhanced level required.
